Heavy Equipment Operator with NCCER Core
Course Description: The Heavy Equipment Operator course is a 3-week entry-level instructional program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to operate and maintain a variety of heavy equipment including utility tractors, earth-moving equipment, and grades. This introductory course includes equipment safety, identification of equipment needed for the job, basic maintenance and operational skills and an introduction in digging ditching, sloping, stripping, grading, backfilling, clearing, and excavating. NCCER Heavy Equipment Level 1 credential is earned upon successful completion.
