Monroe – Preparations are underway for the annual Louisiana Delta Community College (LDCC) Foundation fundraiser, Hats & Horses Derby Party. The event coincides with the Kentucky Derby, which will be viewed during the Derby Party. "Funds raised will go towards scholarship and program support for all of our students," shares Frank Bennett, director of Institutional Advancement & Alumni Relations at LDCC. The need for financial assistance is great for students. Bennett says over 80% of LDCC's student population is Pell-eligible.
Get ready for a delightful evening on May 4th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the ATC building located on LDCC's main campus, 7500 Millhaven Road in Monroe. The event will be filled with the pouring of Mint Juleps, the donning of hats and derby gear, and a plethora of delicious food. But that's not all! There will be music, contests, a silent auction, bourbon tastings, bourbon pulls, and more, promising an all-around great time, says Bennett.
