Shared Governance
The college strives for a transparent and strong shared approach to decision-making, operations, and communication. Shared governance is grounded in the inclusion of faculty, staff, students, and administrators in college decision-making processes. The inclusion of all constituent groups and varying, diverse viewpoints promotes effective collaboration in governance, strategic planning, and college operations. Everyone who will be impacted by a decision is encouraged to be involved in shaping the recommendations that will inform the decision maker. These processes put into practice the mechanisms through which the voices of the college’s employees and constituent groups are heard in making recommendations. Because we value your wisdom and experience, you will also be included as a participant in one or more of these groups.
